ZMP Inspector — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8/Jul/2026

This policy describes how the ZMP Inspector Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles data. It is written to comply with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the requirement to disclose data handling even when all processing happens locally on the user's device.

What the Extension does

ZMP Inspector is a developer/QA debugging tool. It inspects network requests made by the Boomtrain / Rezync / Zeta marketing tag on whatever page the user is viewing, and displays them in a Chrome side panel so the user can verify the tag is firing correctly.

What data the Extension accesses

While active, the Extension reads network requests and responses sent to *.boomtrain.com, *.rezync.com, and *.zetaglobal.net (including their EU equivalents) by the page the user is browsing. Depending on which of those requests occur, this can include:

The Extension does not read page content unrelated to this tag's own network traffic, and does not access browsing activity on sites where the tag is not present beyond the minimal checks needed to determine that.

How this data is used

Captured data is used for exactly one purpose: to display the tag's activity to the user of the Extension, in the side panel, so they can debug and validate their own implementation of the tag. Nothing is used for advertising, analytics about the user of the Extension, or any purpose unrelated to this debugging function.

Where this data is stored

All data captured by the Extension is stored locally on the user's device, using the Chrome extension storage APIs (chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.session). The Extension does not operate any server, and does not transmit captured data to the developer of the Extension, to Google, or to any third party.

The one exception is the optional Export report feature: if the user explicitly clicks this button, a self-contained HTML file summarizing captured events is generated and saved to the user's own computer via the browser's normal download mechanism. This file is not sent anywhere by the Extension — it is a local file the user has chosen to create, and it is the user's responsibility from that point on, the same as any other file they save.

Data sharing

The Extension does not sell, rent, or share any captured data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers, under any circumstances.

Data retention and deletion

Captured data persists in local browser storage until the user clears it. The Extension provides a Clear log button for this purpose. Uninstalling the Extension also removes all data it has stored, as Chrome deletes an extension's local storage on uninstall.

User control

Security

Because all data stays on the user's own device and is never transmitted over a network by the Extension, there is no server-side attack surface. Standard Chrome extension storage protections apply to the data while stored locally.

Children's privacy

The Extension is a developer tool intended for use by website developers and QA professionals. It is not directed at children, and is not knowingly used to collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If the data handled by the Extension changes in a future version, this policy will be updated accordingly, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
